S13845 – Zoisite

This specimen is different from most other matrix tanzanites, in that its vertical crystallization points straight up from graphite matrix. This crystal quite literally pierced matrix. The piece came from a small pocket lined with
beautiful porcelain-white calcite, its most noticeable feature and possibly best aesthetic trait aside from other more
common qualities seen in tanzanite. This one, however, features a fine balance of sought after matrix, transparency and
color – competition level miniature in fact. No damage.
