S15978 – Fluorapatite

This is a fine Bolivian fluorapatite crystal on matrix of remarkably complete hexagonal form to 3.2 x 3.1 cm. The crystal has excellent luster and transparency. Minor contact on right side, but superb nonetheless. Mark Bandy (collected this specimen) and sold it to Doug Macdonald, who use to work for the L.A. County Museum of Natural History, where they knew each other.
