This absolutely stellar example of Batopilas silver is from the 1960s era. This piece has a remarkable history of well-known California collectors who had it at one time. Dave Wilber obtained this piece in an exchange from Pete Bancroft in 1964. From Wilber it went into the collection of Don Boydston, a high-ranking collector in his day. This cluster represents the best of its kind, thanks to fine large spinel-twinned crystals. Most of the silver from this locality is in the form of herringbone crystals.
