This mine is known for producing vibrant red translucent almandine garnets encased in graphite schist. A spectacular plate featuring ten crystals of glowing red embers that sit intermixed with crystals of dravite when backlit. Ex Elaine Smith collection
The finest cassiterite remains in China, nevertheless, this 19th century specimen is a near-floater of cassiterites, nicely twinned, and with high luster. Historically significant and likely more than 150 years old.
