Showy linarite of glossy “wet” and lustrous electric-blue crystals from Red Gill mine in Cumbria, England. A specimen collected in the 1970s and eventually went into the collection of Rosa Nowels.
This type of pseudomorph has a definite appeal to it. Sharp faced lazurite after phlogopite completely replaced by rich indigo-blue lazurite that is not a partial coating as most. Encased in marble and prone to contacting it is surprising to see such an undamaged example. An old specimen from Francois Lietard who had the finest selection of this material. This specimen of deep blue cavansite to 2.5 cm shows remarkable contrast and there is only a single premier locality for it. Fine miniature of very bold, very bright color.
The world famous Dal’negorsk locality produced some of the finest galenas ever, with the typical nickel-bright luster that makes them attractive. This specimen forming clusters of roughly a dozen.
