S24533 – Descloizite
Berg Aukas is the standard for exceptionally good, large quality descloizite. Such as this spear-shaped formation preferentially coated on one side by sugary dolomite. Shows remarkably well from all sides in 3 dimensional relief. From the collection of Elaine Smith.
S20667 – Smithsonite
These smithsonites, collected long ago, are treasures today. Sharply developed cubes exhibit the typical greenish yellow that came from this pocket. An old find now hard to get.
S19764 – Smithsonite
Smithsonite from Berg Aukas is some of the finest known, and this well crystallized, aesthetically shaped piece is a fine example of it. This material is no longer being mined, and are now some of the great classics to come from Namibia.
S19351 – Descloizite
An aesthetic display of reddish brown descloizite blades splay out from its base, forming a balanced heart shape that goes a long way in a thumb, making this piece particularly nice.
S18477 – Smithsonite
This pleasing yellow smithsonite is particularly fine and attractive. At nearly 2.5 cm, considered large by other locality standards and on matrix, this cluster shows excellent form with some side cleaves.
S17563 – Smithsonite
This specimen is an impressive set of crystals to 3 cm in length. This rich, spiky pine-green cluster is prounced and completely transparent, and note the color is much rarer and one of the really great things about this piece.
S17137 – Vanadinite
This excellent vanadinite specimen consists of three crystals to 3.1 cm, completely sharp and steeply terminated, growing in separation. This cluster displays nicely all around. The piece came from dealer Prosper Williams, with his faded label accompanying it.
S16843 – Descloizite
A sharp descloizite with an iridescent shine and quality characteristic of Berg Aukas, Namibia. At 4.5 cm tall, this nice sized grouping of crystals sprays out from its base without damage. This is older material from this world-renowned mine.
S16844 – Smithsonite
A cluster, such as this, is particularly appealing for its balanced spray of not one large scalenohedral crystal of smithsonite, but rather ten of them. The 3 dimensionality is VERY GOOD from different display angles. They are all in mint condition.
S16854 – Smithsonite
This juicy yellow smithsonite crystal to 3.3 cm is without a cleaved tip. A beautifully crystallized, quality matrix piece seen here in sharp, classic scalenohedral form. Aside from Tsumeb, the standard for excellence!
