S18763 – Rutile

An excellent specimen of rutile exhibiting sharp, highly striated reticulation of compacted thumbnail size, with a kickstand side crystal. The metallic sheen here is spectacular and typical of material that came out in the late 1990s, with that added bit of luster. Better in person.

S18338 – Magnetite

This is a quality specimen of Brazilian magnetite, not only for its remarkably bright metallic faces, but for overall sharpness, displaying defined octahedral crystals in chlorite. Now fairly uncommon, this material came out in the early 1990s. Ex Mike Groben collection

S13726 – Anatase

Large top-drawer matrix specimens of Brazilian anatase are uncommon, with the majority being singles or groups of
crystals. This superfine steel-blue crystal to 2.3 cm long in characteristic bipyramidal form sits perched at the edge
of matrix. They were practically unheard-of until one of Ed Swoboda’s legendary mining ventures unearthed some
of the world’s nicest and most colorful specimens ever found. This group of five is also greatly enhanced by
sharply terminated faces of classy smoky quartz.

S12156 – Rutile

Much better in person and 100% MESMERIZING. In the mineral kingdom there is nothing quite like transparent
quartz filled with distinct acicular rutile crystals. Literally tons of yellow inclusions have been mined from Novo
Horizonte for the lapidary trade whereas Diamantina produced only a few isolated pockets of the much rarer
reddish needles. Such solid inclusions of rutilated quartz make spectacular mineral specimens.
