S20535 – Magnetite

This locality is certainly the world’s finest source for magnetite crystals. Check out how fine the quality and luster is for this mineral. There is also interlocking octahedral crystals, which is reassuring given the number of glued specimens out there from here.

S17250 – Magnetite

A fine specimen of sharp, incredibly bright, octahedral crystals of magnetite to 1.1 cm sit on and pseudomorph hematite with some anatase at the base. Most of this specimen is glistening and bright. This piece is pretty old, judging from the faded label and collection of Carl Bosch.

S16732 – Magnetite

This magnetite crystal sits nicely oriented on the top edge of schist matrix. The main attraction, however, is quality of consistently smooth flat faces. This is a very fine crystal to 1 cm. They are considered important alpine classics and highly treasured to this day.
