S12963 – Rhodochrosite

An eyeful of gorgeous rhodochrosite forming a HEART from one of perhaps two top deposits known to produce
spectacular examples, officially being named as the state mineral in 2002. Such display level specimens come from only
a few places on earth, and for the most part some of the most attractive come from the Sweet Home mine, near
Alma, Colorado. This splendid arrangement is from the world renowned Hedgehog pocket, now largely unavailable and
increasingly sought after. The legendary series of finds, someday, will eclipse all but a few hard-to-get pockets of truly
noteworthy material. This very pretty rhodo is a sound investment.
