S13142 – Gold

This is one WHOPPER of a California gold thumbnail! Sharp too! The Eagle’s Nest mine has gained quite a reputation for
producing exceptional gold specimens of the typical flattened octahedra. We rarely see them in well formed octahedral
crystals such as this crystal of 1.3 cm on edge even though they are known to exist this good from here, that is why to my
surprise I was very happy when this "gold nugget" rolled out of the box and into my hand!
