S14656 – Turquoise

This piece comes from one of the oldest known occurrences for fine turquoise, an idiochromatic mineral, that gets most of its strong robin’s egg blue saturation from the coloring agent copper. This piece has been in private hands for over half a century. Don Boydston purchased the piece in the early 1960s from Norm Dawson, both well-known California collectors.
