S15870 – Chlorargyrite

Specimens such as this chlorargyrite are very rare and I cannot recall seeing a compound crystal so well formed and complete from this classic locality. Its terraced tabletop of intricately grown cubes measures a whopping 2 x 1.6 cm. A MAJOR thumbnail of unusual and prominent crystallization of this silver mineral. The majority of specimens from the Broken Hill mines went to the mill in the early days. Ex Bill McBride collection
