S18050 – Uvite

This specimen comes from the collection of Carlos Barbosa (1917-2003), a prominent figure and collector of Brazilian minerals. This superb piece comes with one of his handwritten labels. This is a great uvite, featuring glittering green translucency and unbelievable quality for the species. Brumado has produced the best specimens, and this crystal is significant not only for size of 4.3 cm (the average is 1 cm), but more importantly as an almost complete floater of uvite.
