S18554 – Epidote

A beautifully crystallized, classy, doubly terminated epidote seen here in sharp, thick, tabular form. All of the crystal faces and edges are free of damage and extend nicely from underlying diopside. The crystal atop measures 2 cm in height, and looks highly striated. It is twinned, very clearly. It has provenance from Tiziano Bonisoli, a desirable alpine locality, overall chiseled geometry and complete crystal form that makes this one exceptional.
